Why the syrian revolution is different from the Libyian revolution

There has been mixed opinions on wether or not the western nations should intervene militarily in the Syran revolution. In this post im going to discuss why the syrian revolution is much more complex than the Libyan.

  •  Syria has a lot more support

USA doesn't want to get involved militarily that is., this makes the whole situation a lot more complicated. Because if the UN does not have USA in their back its gonna get a lot harder to handle it politically.
Then you might ask yourself why is this different from libya?

The White House says the two situations can't be compared.

Libya was "a unique situation," Carney told reporters Monday. "We had large portions of the country that were out of the control of Moammar Gadhafi (and) we had an international consensus to act. We had the support of the Arab League to act in a multilateral fashion."

Second, there is "nowhere near the consensus on Syria as there is on Libya," Pletka told CNN. Syria, as opposed to Libya, stands at the heart of the Arab world. Assad has more friends and allies to call on.

Gaddafi had no friends and even his own children wanted to marginalize him. In an unprecedented move, the Arab League supported the establishment of a strictly enforced no-fly zone in Libya. In contrast, Bashar al-Assad has powerful allies inside and outside the region--starting with Iran (and, therefore, Hezbollah and Hamas). Even Vogue magazine was smitten with this family and wrote a sycophantic article about Asma Assad, "the freshest and most magnetic of first ladies" endowed with "dark-brown eyes, wavy chin-length brown hair, long neck, an energetic grace." It's hard to bomb someone like that.

But this is not saying that US isn't doing anything in syria, they have pressed that many countries freeze Syrian assets. So this leaves the Assad regime with a lot less money in the coffers. EU and Canada have already joined USA in the freeze. But countries like Russia and China refuse to join the freeze.

  • Why libya, but not Syria?
While Libya's Military was ill-equipped, ill-trained and fragmented, Syria has one of the largest, best trained and best equipped armed forces in the entire middle east. It also houses one of the worlds largest paramilitary in the world. Secondly, Libya exhausted the little appetite left in the United States to engage in wars that are not justified by clear threats to its vital interests. Syrian dissidents are suffering the consequences of the long and costly wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and the recent raid on Libya. U.S. military support for remote causes will henceforth be more limited and selective. And, as far as wars are concerned, Europe won't act without Washington. This leaves the heroic Syrian dissidents all on their own.

OIL - Everything is about the oil. Libya had a lot of oil, while Syrian has close to none. The western countries where interested in going in and capturing the oil before the region got to destabilized. Helping the Libyan revolution therefore made the western countries buddies with the new Libyan government and then they might just be a little more willing to trade oil.

This was what i had. Write your comments or questions if you have any, and i will try to answer them the best i can :)

My opinion on libya

Okay. so the situation in libya has been reaching its climax up to now.
And many in my school think that all the western countries should have just kept to themselves and leave libya to itself. BUT i think that when the civilians are being targetet the way that Gadaffi does i think its okay to come in and stop it the way we did. I know thats not the reason we got into Libya but its still being done. But its clear that if we had not come in to help the civilians against Gadaffi he would have taken libya back. But right now i dont see how he can get a hold of libya again.

So whats your opinion? Do you think its okay for us to intervene in Libya or should we just let it go by itself ? :)

10 Things i live by - Idea from Jacksonhunt

10 Things you should try living by.

I recently saw this on some other guys blog and i decided to do it myself, you should check him out though, he has some pretty good stuff on his blog.
Jacksonhunt

So, here are 10 things that i try to live by.

1. Treat everyone you meet with respect, no matter how different they are to you, they might have something interesting things to tell. And you lose nothing by trying.

2. Only do to people what you would have them do to you. If you treat someone like shit, chances are that they will treat you like shit aswell, however, if you are nice to them, so will they be.

3. Always try to be happy. As eveyone has probably heard before, smile to the world, and it smiles back. Again, you have nothing to lose, and you might actually gain som new friends.

4. If someone pisses you off, simply walk away, staying there is either going to make you mad and make you do stuff that you will regret later.

5. ALWAYS do your best, if you always give it your best shot, you will get results, and results are cool!

6. Treat your family well, no matter how ridiculous you think they are, they are your family and they will always love you.

7. Think before acting. If you always think before doing, chances are that you wont get into as much trouble as if you didnt.

8. Dont profile people. No, asains are not always smart. No, black people are NOT always criminals and no, clothes does not determine what kind of person you are.
I actually have som more to add here. Once i was driving downtown, and i bump into a car in front of me, with my nerves on my skin i walk up to the window, and what meets my eye gets me terrified. I see one of the members of the biggest gang in Denmark, I studder "it seems i hit your car, it was an accident I promise!" He calmy looks back at me and says " its okay dude, it didnt sound like a very big bump"
and then he drives off, and by then i realised that you cant profile people :)

9.  Take responsibilty for your actions. Nothing makes you appear more mature than taking the shit for what you have done, chances is that you will get telled off anyway, so why not take it like a man?

10. And lastly but most importantly. Believe in yourself. No one can make you do something that you dont want to. If you are displeased with a situation either try to solve it, or simply walk away.
YOU are awesome
YOU are unique
and YOU RULE

That was what i got for today, im sorry if i made any obvious mistakes i am but a boy in his eighteens, and from a foreign country. Thanks for reading ! :)

A review of the game fable 3.

Hello, today i will be reviewing the game fable 3.

-WARNING-
This review will hold spoilers, if you dont want your game spoiled then dont read anymore, if you are considering to buy this game then do, its pretty damm awesome ;)
-WARNING-

Your adventure starts in your bedroom where you are awoken by your butler, who is packing a british accent which just adds to the game.

You are quickly presented with the problem of the game, your evil brother, he is leading the land of albion in tyranni, child labour, stealing from the people. You quickly realise that you are supposed to stop this.

Through playing the game you get told that you will lead the country when you have overthrown your brother.
And to gain the support of all the small minorities you have to make promises to make their situation better when you eventually get to rule the kingdom.

Then after playing throught the first half of the game you get to throw out your brother, and then you are presented with the problem as to why he has been so "cruel"
Earlier you met an enemy that seemed indefeatable. And that enemy is planning an attack on your newly aquired kingdom. He did this to gather a large army to defend the people.

And by then, you have to decide.

Will you be a good lord, but then have no cash to defend your kingdom?

Or will you be a tyrant like the one you just overthrew to defend your kingdom?

Ive tried both, and when you have done either the game is not worth playing anymore.

If you are evil and have enough cash, then everyone in the game will HATE you. Not presenting you with a whole lot of things to do in the game.

And by being a good lord, everyone will be dead, but the ones that are still left will love you.

This is my first ever game review. Constructive critic is always welcome :)

Kagemand

.Hvad vil det egentligt sige at være en kagemand? er det at være lavet af mel og dej eller af sukker og mælk?
